Hey fellow techheads! Spotted this wild thread about an original Intel 8080 Rubylith mask hitting the market. 5k transistors etched into that mask? Holy cow, that’s a piece of computing history. The owner’s looking for a restorer—anyone with the skills to bring this back to life?

I mean, Rubylith’s basically the holy grail for hardware nerds, right? It’s like a time capsule of 1970s engineering. The interconnect patterns alone are a masterpiece. But restoring it? That’s gonna take some serious know-how.

Anyone here ever worked with vintage masks or PCB restoration? I’d love to hear thoughts on how to approach this. Also, what’s the vibe around the 8080 community? I’m sure there’s a bunch of folks who’d kill to get their hands on this.

P.S. If you’re the restorer, let’s chat! Maybe we can collaborate or share resources. This could be a landmark project for the homelab and retro computing scenes.
