Bro, anyone else tired of waiting for that Ryzen 7 5800X3D? It’s basically a grail for gamers and content creators, but it’s been sold out since day one. I’ve been eyeing those Prime Day CPUs with DDR5—Ryzen 5 5600G, 5800X, even some 7800X3D deals—cheaper than the 5800X3D’s $350 tag.
But wait, DDR5 upgrades are expensive. Is it worth the extra $100-150 for a DDR5 stick to offset the CPU discount? Or should I just stick with DDR4 and wait for the 5800X3D?
Thoughts on which CPU is better for gaming vs. homelab? I’m leaning towards the 5800X for 12th-gen Intel’s DDR5 support, but the 5600G is a beast for budget builds. Also, anyone planning a DDR5 rig? Need advice on motherboard choices.
P.S. If the 5800X3D ever drops to $300, I’m buying. But for now, these deals are a solid alternative. What’s your take?
